Here’s a blog about skin care because – surprise! – everybody has skin.
That doesn’t mean everybody knows how to look after the skin they have, does it?
Your skin is a natural part of you; it must operate within nature’s rules. And, as you know, when you break the rules nature makes there are consequences. Maybe you may think gravity is a nuisance. Does that mean you can step off that cliff..?
How does this apply to your complexion, for instance?
Slow down a minute here. Have you noticed that the companies making huge profits are the ones that promise instant results, miraculous changes — all endorsed by gorgeous examples of humanity?
“Try our Miracle Moon Dust and by next Thursday you, too, can look like Cheryl Celebrity!”
Do you believe that? Probably not.
Do you want to believe that? Oh, yes. Yes!
“Oh, I’ll pay whatever you ask to get some of the Magic Moon Dust! I really want to look like [Whoever] at least by next Thursday. Oh, please….”
Come on, now. You know better than that. But you go ahead and pull out your credit card. And where does that costly little jar end up after two weeks? Under the sink. In that little drawer – you know which one I mean – along with several dozen other jars, bottles and tubes that were supposed to make you look absolutely perfect in no time at all.
Take a hard look at this kind of thinking. Are you acting as though your skin is a kind of wrapping paper that you can just peel off if you don’t like it?
Alas. Nature has given you an outer wrapping that is made up of living cells that breathe, that expel toxins from your body, that transmit messages to your brain about what you touch and feel, that regulate temperature to keep your body heat within safe range.
This is what you are monkeying around with? One of your vital organs? The one that actually has more functions than any other organ? More than you heart. More than your lungs. More than your digestive system…
Your skin protects you. How about giving it some respect?
This blog about skin care is here because if you want to improve your appearance and your health, your skin deserves thoughtful attention.
